Characterization of Crude Palm Oil (CPO), Corn Oil and Waste Cooking Oil for Biodiesel Production

نویسندگان

چکیده

Biodiesel production is the reaction of raw oils with mixing and heating within catalyst methanol. The usually come from vegetable animal fats. Vegetable are a promising feedstock for biodiesel since they renewable in nature. Nevertheless, physical properties pose some acute problems when used an unmodified engine. It important to diesel biodiesels because it impacts components such as fuel pump. Therefore, this paper intends investigate samples terms viscosity, density, flash point acid values at different bio lipids time. evaluation carried out on three types biodiesels: crude oil, palm corn waste cooking oil. Methanol was chosen over others transesterification process cheaper. esterification process, which reduces amount free fatty acids will be performed help catalyst. Alkaline catalysts, contrast, process. comparison all shows that CPO better than other due kinematic density flashpoint.

Waste Cooking Oil as an Alternate Feedstock for Biodiesel Production

As crude oil price reach a new high, the need for developing alternate fuels has become acute. Alternate fuels should be economically attractive in order to compete with currently used fossil fuels. In this work, biodiesel (ethyl ester) was prepared from waste cooking oil collected from a local restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ethyl alcohol with sodium hydroxide as a catalyst was use...

Enzymatic Alholysis For Biodiesel Production From Waste Cooking Oil

Huge efforts have been carried out in recent years in order to develop an alternative fuel from renewable resources, such as biodiesel fuel. Therefore, the use of cooking oil as raw material is a very interesting alternative for the production of biodiesel. In this work, waste frying oil was used as raw material for enzymatic biodiesel production. Moreover, this study analyzes the influence of ...

Biodiesel Production from Used Cooking Oil

Production of biodiesel was involved transesterification process that implicated the reaction between used cooking oil and methanol with aid of KOH. The reaction was carried out at 15 min, 30 min, 60 min, 90 min, and 120 min to evaluate the effect of reaction time on the yield of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME). The highest yield of FAME was obtained at reaction time 60 min. Besides that, the yi...

Esterification and Deacidification of a Waste Cooking Oil (TAN 68.81 mg KOH/g) for Biodiesel Production

Oils with high content of free fatty acid (FFA) can be treated by acid esterification where an alcohol reacts with the given oil in the presence of acid catalyst. The investigated parameters include methanol to oil ratio, temperature and amount of catalyst. The optimum conditions for acid esterification which could reduce FFA content in the feedstock to less than 1.88% (acid value 3.76 mg KOH/g...
